Why name the development Buhr-Rock?
What is Buhr-Rock?
Buhr-Rock is a very hard, small stone that is prevalent in the Mount Victor area of Warren County. It was used in the pioneer days as a sharpening stone. It is very rough looking, almost volcanic in appearance. The name of our farm is Buhr-Rock. We discovered this after we moved into our home some 40 years ago. The fence in front of our home is made of Buhr-Rock, and Buhr-Rock is engraved in the front entrance pillar of the wall. Like i said, we discovered this after we moved there, it was covered in ivy so we trimmed it back to expose the engraving.
